Marc Ibbotson
I have been a qualified Secondary school teacher for over 13 years now and have classroom and home tuition experience working with Key Stage 2, 3, 4 and Special Educational Needs students.
Initially specialising as a History teacher, I facilitated students in gaining and understanding excellent subject knowledge many of whom secured outstanding results. I later branched out teaching Key Stage 3 and GCSE level Geography, Religious Studies and BTEC Business Studies and have worked for several examination boards as an assessor.
For the past 5 years I have been working within Special Education. My first role was as a Dyslexia specialist teacher within a Secondary School setting before later being appointed as a Humanities Co-ordinator at a Special School which caters for students on the ASD scale.
I have privately tutored History (GCSE & A-Level), GCSE Maths - both school aged and mature students, the 11 Plus exam and students with Special Needs - often these sessions take away the pressures of home learning from parents who usually would face weekly battles that accompany it.
I have a genuine interest in helping students become the best they can be regardless of any barriers they may or may not have. I use a range of high quality differentiated resources and techniques to assist me teach. I consider myself to be a creative, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and empathetic teacher. Please do get in touch if you would like to speak to me about available sessions.
